I never summed up the RoboCup... so why not right now.
We made the third place in the end and that even while our performance was so bad.
There is still a lot work left if we want to participate succesful at the world wide RoboCup and i'm still not sure if i have enough time for this. I feels pretty behind with the lessions i should apply too and it has started since a while now. I really need to get myself up to date... I feel like i missed everything...
Just started with learning Haskell and been able to finish the first few assignments. Kinda too late as it seems but there will be 9 more over the whole semester so not too much of an issue. They weren't too hard but took me long enough... also there are only two more weeks till we have a full week vacation - already.
I feel crushed by too many dark shadows... what renders me a little helpless.

Jack hates Me!
RoboCup is over and i'm finally home again!
I had a lot of time to think about useless stuff on my way home and was doing some research about Ambiance and Trance music genre. Something i always wanted to get myself into.
I already had a few sound projects last year that all went pretty bad cause i lack a lot of knowledge about "How to do" music. Beside the fact that i'm not interessted in some normal "main stream" branches of it.
While it seems to me that trance is still pretty close to the generic understanding of music, ambiance seems to be further away of it.
Last year i was just using pulseaudio and tryed to avoid Jack as much as possible as it made me a lot of problems like shutting my audio down completly (I don't say it is Jack fault! I'm just not used to setting it up correctly).
This time stuff seems to work out a lot better but my microphone just doesn't wants to work... I have no idea why it is so much of an issue... on the up side i could use an MIDI keyboard now. Something that will move onto my wish list from now on as it just isn't the same feeling of using a computer keyboard when a MIDI one would be so much better.

Nothing finally found!
I'm sorry for not posting about the remaining games yesterday.
One was general purpose what means one can start any task from the robot via voice input, which didn't worked out well because it is very noise in here. Sadly i can't tell you more details about it just because i don't know what exactly happends there. I was kinda brain afk.
Similar happend at the Restaurant game were lease had to learn Point of Interest from an operator via voice input and following him. Our follow me is still pretty buggy and the two working on it weren't able to get it work. Operator is jumping from time to time and is lost due to chairs or desks that are detected as better targets (We use leg detection to follow an operator... but somehow it prefers extra thin legs of chairs and desks).
Today the final is on the program at 12:15 were we will try to grab transparent objects! This usually is a huge problem as the laser scanners pass through the material. It's also hard to detect them through images as it is transparent and we are not talking about something like tinted glass.
Currently we track down the noise generated for a laser scanner to determinate its position. But it usually isn't good enough to give a percise position. What can still be observed in our test runs but most of the time we get good enough results to grip.
I would say it looks promissing!
